Read anything by Bertrand Russell, Aldus Huxley, H.G.Wells, Charles Galton Darwin, Arnold J Toynbee and recognise that these people weren't just prophetic authors. They were in fact major players in designing a future world system. They appreciated that their social engineering policies would not be seen in their lifetimes.
